This is a .75" long external buffer weight. This goes inbetween the buffer and the BCG.
You will need to use the correct length buffer and buffer tube combination in order to use this external weight -
AR15 - A5 length buffer tube, 3.25" AR carbine buffer, external buffer weight
AR10 - A5 length buffer tube, 2.5" AR 308 carbine buffer, external buffer weight
AR9 - standard length AR carbine buffer tube, 3.25" AR carbine buffer, external buffer weight
