AR22LR- Bolt weight

This works well! I installed all pins, bringing total weight to 1.4 ounces, give or take. After degreasing Tungsten weights with 91% isopropyl alcohol (clean shop rag and wipe them), I installed using JB Weld. Do not worry about putting too much JB Weld into the buffer, as any excess will squeeze out as the rods are inserted. I used a small awl to push each pin. The first buffer housing split around 600 rounds. GMR immediately sent me a replacement, and stated that a split house is a rarity. I recovered the tungsten rods, and cleaned off the JB Weld by chucking each weight in my drill, and sanding off the epoxy using 150 grit sandpaper. Degreased and reinstalled with JB Weld. This weight works very well for CCI Mini Mags, which I’ve heard work great with FRT, and works great with Norma Tac22, to slow the bolt. The replacement buffer fits extremely well in my PSA/CMMG type AR22 bolt assembly. GMR makes a quality product, and cares about follow-up with the customer: these are rare traits in today’s business climate. Buy with confidence.

Installed the S7 tool steel super safety in a sbr lower that I use with multiple uppers of various calibers (.22lr, 9mm, .300 blk and .223/5.56) and it works with all of them. This weight kit using all of the tungsten rods was needed to work reliably with the .22lr ammo that I use as long as it’s 40 or 45 gr quality ammo like CCI Minimags or Federal. So much fun!

This bolt weight is great in nearly every way. It's very functional, the most important consideration. It is also a great value as the cost is a fraction of what competing products cost. My single gripe is that the total weight of the kit I received came in at 1.2 OZ, a bit short of the 1.5 OZ I had expected. I am using this weight to eliminate bolt bounce while using a super safety, and the entire 1.2 oz was needed to get functionality.
